General Questions
What is the India e-Arrival Card?
A mandatory digital registration form for all foreign nationals arriving in India by air from 1 April 2026. It replaces the old paper Disembarkation Card and is submitted via the Su-Swagatam portal (indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival) or mobile app.
Is the India e-Arrival Card a visa?
No. It does not grant entry rights. You still need a valid Indian visa or OCI card. It is purely an arrival registration form.
When did it become mandatory?
OCI cardholders: 4 October 2025. All other foreign nationals by air: 1 April 2026.
Who needs to fill it in?
All foreign nationals arriving by air – tourists, business travellers, OCI cardholders. Indian citizens are exempt.
Is it free?
Yes. The official Su-Swagatam portal charges no fee. Avoid third-party websites that charge for this service.
Application Questions
Where do I apply?
Apply at indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival or suswaagatam.gov.in. Or use the Su-Swagatam mobile app (Android and iOS).
How far in advance can I apply?
Up to 72 hours (3 days) before your scheduled arrival. The portal does not allow earlier submissions. Apply as soon as the window opens.
How long does the application take?
About 5-10 minutes. Registration is confirmed instantly; confirmation email arrives within minutes.
What information is needed?
Passport number, nationality, purpose of visit, arrival date, countries visited in last 6 days, Indian address (state, district, full address), email, and phone number.
Do children need their own e-Arrival Card?
Yes. Each person including minors needs a separate form. Parents/guardians complete it on behalf of children.

Technical Questions
What if the Su-Swagatam website is down?
Try suswaagatam.gov.in or the Su-Swagatam mobile app. If both unavailable, contact your airline and check the Bureau of Immigration website.
I made a mistake – what do I do?
Submit a new e-Arrival Card with correct information. See our troubleshooting guide.
I didn’t receive a confirmation email.
Check spam folder. If email was mistyped, submit again with corrected address. Your registration is still valid in the system.
